Gyanvapi Case: Vishnu Shankar Jain files application in SC, demands withdrawal of stay on ASI survey

The Gyanvapi case took fresh turn after ASI report was made public on Jan 24 on direction of Varanasi district court. Hindu side Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain on Jan 25 claimed existence of Hindu Temple prior to construction of the existing structure. He cited ASI’s “conclusive finding” in the report which brought about elation amongst the Hindu side petitioner and lawyers. Meanwhile, Jain on January 29 filled an application in SC demanding withdrawal of stay order on survey given on 19 May 2023.
