Cliff Hanger - This Time I Finished the Trail

I'm back at the infamous Cliff Hanger trail in Moab, Utah, and this time there is no turning around. As usual, I'm driving solo, and I brought some wireless trailer cameras so I can spot myself over the worst obstacles. This drive tested my skill with massive ledges, the Z Turn, and of course the famous namesake section that makes you crawl over boulders next to a sheer 400 foot drop. Several years ago I tried to run this trail on the last day of a trip. There were no winch anchors at the time, and I made it as far as the waterfall drop before I decided it was too risky to run it solo when I had to drive home the same day. It was a great feeling to return and conquer this trail with no damage, no winching, and no help except for my own skill and grit. Cliff Hanger is one of many Jeep Badge of Honor trails in Moab, and is one of the hardest on the list. I would rank it a step below Pritchett Canyon in technical difficulty, but the cliff edge sections are far more dangerous than even the notorious Colorado mountain passes like Black Bear.
