Clearing critical milestones like camshaft degreeing and timing belt tensioning gets us into “free air” and sets the stage for serious forward momentum on one of Ferrari’s most legendary road going V8's. In this episode, I tackle the final assembly of the Ferrari 355 V8 engine, bringing it closer than ever to going back into the car. But as with any Ferrari engine build, the path forward isn't without its challenges… One of the most frustrating areas of the Ferrari V8—and especially the 355—is sealing the valve covers. In previous videos, I explained why Ferrari’s factory method leaves a lot to be desired. Today, I reveal my exact process to properly seal these covers so they don't leak. It’s a tedious and time-consuming task, but the payoff is long-term reliability and a dry engine bay. Along the way, I’ll share more pro tips and tricks that I’ve learned over decades of working on Ferrari engines, to help ensure your 355 major service is done right. This is one of Ferrari’s most infamous road-going V8s—and we're almost there.
