(T)ERROR, a documentary about FBI informants, is shared by directors Lyric R. Cabral and David Felix Sutcliffe. We talk to the filmmakers about gaining access to their FBI informant subject, Islamophobia, and the FBI’s targeting of Muslims, in this special BYOD interview hosted by Ondi Timoner. FILM INFO & GUEST BIO: (T)ERROR (working title) is an intimate exploration of the domestic War on Terror, featuring unprecedented real-time access to central players entangled in an active FBI counter-terrorism investigation. The film will attempt to demystify the nature of America’s terrorist threat, and will bring audiences face to face with issues of domestic surveillance, racial profiling, entrapment, Islamophobia, and the limits of free speech and religious expression. Lyric R. Cabral is an independent documentary filmmaker and photojournalist, named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” in 2013. In support of her documentary work, Cabral has received artist grants from Sundance Institute, Tribeca Film Institute, BBC Storyville, ITVS, International Documentary Association, and the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund. Cabral’s photography has been published through the Gordon Parks Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution Photography Initiative, and National Geographic Channel UK. (T)ERROR is her first feature-length documentary. David Felix Sutcliffe is an independent documentary filmmaker whose work has been supported by the BBC, the Tribeca Film Institute, the Sundance Institute, and ITVS. In 2013, Filmmaker Magazine named him as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film. David’s first film, Adama, was broadcast on PBS in 2011 and featured the story of a teenage Muslim girl from Harlem who was arrested by the FBI on suspicion of being a “potential suicide bomber.” ADD’L LINKS: http://chickeneggpics.org/film/terror/ / terrordocumentary http://thelip.tv/show/byod-bring-your... http://thelip.tv/ BYOD Full Episodes Playlist: • Видео BYOD Short Clips Playlist: • Видео / theliptv2 / theliptv https://www.facebook.com/BYODOC?direc... https://www.facebook.com/thelip.tv?re...
