孤高のオス猿・あわじのジョー☆2025年春【淡路島モンキーセンター】

2025年２月～４月撮影 孤高のオス猿『あわじのジョー』こと「ジョー」は、群れのサル達と程よい距離を取りながらエサ場の周辺で独りで暮らしているようです。 きっと彼もモンキーセンター出身と思われます。 群れには入らないけれど、群れのサル達とは顔なじみの関係。 ちびっ子達はエサ場にジョーが現れると興奮気味に近付いて、可愛くご挨拶。ジョーもちびっ子達の面倒をよく見ています。 群れのオス達はエサ場にジョーが現れても、ケンカをすることはありませんが「調子に乗るなよ」と言わんばかりにマウンティング(挨拶)をしにきたり、軽く追い払う様子が見られます。 【淡路島モンキーセンター】の淡路ザル達に魅了され、淡路ザルにたくさん会いたくて淡路島へ移住しました。 サル達の行動を観察していると可愛いだけではなく、面白かったり、時に感動することもあります。 Instagramにも投稿していますが、投稿しきれない動画もたくさんあるので、YouTubeでも投稿しています。 スマホでの撮影の為、綺麗な画像ではありませんが、少しでもモンキーセンターの魅力をお伝えできれば幸いです。 Filmed from February to April 2025 The solitary male monkey, Awaji no Joe, also known as "Joe", seems to live alone around the feeding area, keeping a comfortable distance from the other monkeys. I'm sure he's also from the Monkey Center. He doesn't join the group, but he's familiar with the monkeys. When the little ones see Joe at the feeding area, they approach him excitedly and greet him cutely. Joe also takes good care of the little ones. Even when Joe appears at the feeding area, the males in the herd don't fight, but they will come up to mount him (to greet him) as if to say, "Don't get too cocky," or they will gently chase him away. I was so fascinated by the Awaji monkeys at Awajishima Monkey Center that I moved to Awaji Island hoping to meet as many of them as possible. Observing the monkeys' behavior is not only cute, but also funny and sometimes moving. I also post videos on Instagram, but as I have too many to post, I post them on YouTube as well. The images are not the best because they were taken with a smartphone, but I hope they can convey at least a little of the charm of the Monkey Center.
