Study: Coronavirus May Not Like Warm Weather | NBCLX

Preliminary research suggests COVID-19 might prefer cool, damp weather. A team of doctors and researchers mapped the world’s biggest outbreaks of the Coronavirus and compared it to a specific range of temperatures and humidity. The preliminary findings from the University of Maryland show Wuhan, China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, and much of the United States all fall within similar weather patterns: temperatures between 41-52 degrees and humidity roughly 50-80%. That range would explain why Seattle, the Bay Area, New York and Boston have seen some of America’s biggest outbreaks.
