THIS DIGIBETA VERSION HAS BEEN MADE FROM THE PRINT - VERSION ON TAPE PM0886 WILL PROBABLY BE BETTER QUALITY AS TAKEN FROM THE NEGATIVE. Intertitle reads: "Tea-time..." C/U of a doorbell. Finger presses the button. C/U of the bottom of the door as it opens, a woman's pair of legs and feet. Another woman comes through the door and the legs move around as if excited. Looks as if the girls are greeting each other with hugs and kisses. The two pairs of legs run off screen. The girls sit on chairs with a small table between them (we still only see them from the legs down). Legs are twitched as if very, very excited by the prospect of afternoon tea. One of the girls pours a cup of tea for the other. The girl pouring the tea puts the teapot down and pulls the skirt of her dress up. This reveals a novelty item - a cigarette case which is attached to a garter! She opens it out then makes a gesture with her hand which seems to ask her friend, "Want a fag?" or probably "Would you care for a cigarette?"She hands one to her friend and takes one out herself. Top shot of the tea pourer's lower body as she takes a lighter out of her jacket pocket. She lights her cigarette, blowing out the smoke. "Really Lady Nicotine's latest" C/U of the cigarette case tucked in her garter. She pulls out what looks like a cigarette but turns out to be a tiny lighter. C/U of her flicking the lighter and lighting the cigarette. She replaces the lighter. "Hat holders, too!" Top shot of the back of the friend's head, she wears a hat with a long cigarette holder attached. She places her cigarette in the holder, then slides it out of her hat and takes a puff. Bizarre! Was item in Eve's Film Review issue 417. Two safety prints exist - one probably on the "Friends of Fashion" reel. Note: excellently nutty inventions for the lady smoker! Brilliant!
