#HarborFreight #ToolHaul #ShopTools Well, it had to come at some point...our first "official" Harbor Freight Tool Haul. I know they get a bad reputation, but a lot of their stuff is good, and for many DIY types and weekend warriors it opens up so many possibilities that would otherwise remain cost prohibitive (see also: shop equipment like engine lifts, transmission jacks, and presses). Despite having never done a tool haul from Harbor Freight I have had (and still have) a lot of their stuff. I usually go to Harbor Freight when there is a specific item of need, in this case a transmission jack. As always, it is easy to find other items to tack on...If you have any favorites, or any items you'd like me to try out, feel free to leave a comment. And I will let you know, I got back to this store to snag a few other items which you'll see here in a week or two. For what it is worth, the specs on this transmission jack are great. My truck is an 01 Ram Off Road and with the factory lift the transmission is very high off the ground. A lot of transmission jacks won't even reach high enough to touch the very bottom of the pan (which is an aftermarket, DEEP B&M pan by the way). In addition to the exceptionally high reach, it is a bit more compact that some others. My plan to get a motorcycle lift seemed good, but the increased range of this simple scissor style lift, coupled with the price point and positive reviews, led to the justification of the purchase...it has been very smooth in testing thus far. Getting the strap and saddle with brackets is also a nice perk. We will put the screwdrivers thru the paces...unless the mysterious white substance cuts things short, lol.
