The aircraft was delivered to the US 8th Air Force in Britain on October 8, 1943, and the following year was part of the massive fleet of aircraft that was a significant part of the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944. What a fantastic Silver Bird and so important part of history! A huge thanks to Dakota Norway for making this happen! And to the crew on the ground and pilots in the air! You all do an amazing job to keep this bird airborne and a reminder to us all what an important role DC3 has in our recent history.
