EP #1 DIY pond build! Laying out the pond with laser level-Cabin in the woods pond build

EP 1 of starting this new pond project. Today we'll break out the laser level and see just how close my 'pond vision' was as far as how high and where the future pond level would end up. I had an idea that I wanted to bring the pond up fairly close to the back patio, so let's see how it goes. In case you missed EP #2 here is the link to that one:    • EP #2 Cabin in the woods pond build-My big...   In EP 2 I'll be using my new 36 inch mini excavator digging bucket, aka 'the Godzilla bucket,' and my bobcat e42 R series mini excavator. This pond building project is part of a larger land management plan that is associated with our VRBO cabin in the woods building project, as we are building this remote pond below the cabin project so that it will be a beautiful pond, as the future cabin site overlooks the pond in the cedar thicket. This pond will accomplish several goals: A) divert the water runoff from the hillside that the cabin will be on and; B) catch water from another major ditch runoff and slow the water and erosion below the new pond. This new pond will create a new permanent watering source for wildlife diversity. I hope you enjoy this project and stay tuned for the next parts coming out very soon.
