Prep Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins Servings: 4-5 To Make Prawn Curry Prawns - 1 Kg Sesame Oil - 4 Tbsp Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp Fennel Seeds - 1 Tsp Onion - 2 Nos Green Chilli - 4 Nos Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tsp Tomato - 2 Nos Salt - 2 Tsp Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp Chilli Powder - 2 Tsp Coriander Powder - 2 Tsp Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp Pepper - 1 Tsp Curry Leaves Coriander Leaves Water - 1/4 Cup METHOD: 1. Take sesame oil in a wide kadai and heat it. Add mustard seeds, fennel seeds and saute. 2. Add finely chopped onions, green chillies and saute until they are golden brown in color for 5 mins. 3. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well. After 30 seconds, add chopped tomatoes and saute for 5 mins. 4. Then add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and mix well. 5. Once the gravy is thick, add water, mix well and cook until the oil is separated from the gravy. 6. Add cleaned and deveined prawns. Mix well, add cumin powder, fresh curry leaves, mix again, cover and cook for 5 mins on a medium flame. 7. After 5 mins, cook until the gravy is reduced to a thick consistency. 8. Add pepper powder, fresh curry leaves and mix. Lastly add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix it all well. 9. That's it, delicious Chettinad Prawn Curry is ready to be served hot with some rice by the side.
