BMW likes to use rubber coatings on the high contact surfaces in their cars. The problem is, heat and other environmental factors eventually cause the rubber to break down, creating a sticky mess. Kies Motorsports sells replacement handles that don't have the thick rubber layer, so theoretically, you'll never have an issue after installing them.
