The introduction to spring says the air is still a bit frosty, and snow is sure to come for at least one more visit, but little sprigs of green assure us that change is around the corner. It’s spring! It’s the season of new life and fresh beauty. Winter seemed to have killed and buried all that was comfortable and promising. Bleakness and harsh reality blanketed the world and individual lives for what seemed like forever. Yet eventually, through the frozen hearts and hardened exteriors, we glimpse a fresh hint of life. It has been germinating, unseen, deep beneath the surface, growing new and strong. The promise of spring time is always within our grasp. Just as our Creator permits His world to change and die in order to bring new life, He allows His children to do the same. All along, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit’s plan was for the Son to live out the ultimate display of springtime, renewal and beauty. Find your umbrella and join me as we expectantly wait for the bear trees to bed with new life. Even though some rain may fall, let’s rejoice in the warm feeling of the sun on our faces, and the soft breeze of change, whispering through our hair. All was not lost to the freezing destruction of winter. Life will always rise up victoriously. Because of the promise of spring, we can shout with Paul, “ oh death where is your victory?
