President Donald Trump's recent implementation of a 25% tariff on imported cars and car parts has left car dealers across the nation bracing for impact. Despite initial hopes from Wall Street investors and big businesses that Trump would soften his stance, the tariffs have now taken effect, prompting concerns about rising car prices. John Barr, the general manager and pitchman for Findlay Toyota in Southern Nevada, one of the largest dealerships in the country, expressed his hopes for the new government. "We have a new government. We wish them nothing but the best and we hope everyone understands we’re all American," Barr said. However, a recent CBS News/YouGov poll indicates that 64% of Americans believe the Trump administration is not sufficiently focused on lowering prices. Barr admitted uncertainty about the tariffs' impact on car prices. "If they come in and say hello today, I’m going to do everything in my power to make it as affordable as I can for them as an individual," he said.
