Rhino conservation organisations have welcomed the latest statistics on rhino poaching that show a drop in the number of rhinos killed from last year. They say, however, that anti-poaching measures and conservation efforts need to be stepped up. This comes as the Minister of Environment announced a 40 percent decline in rhino killings in the Kruger National Park since 2022. More than 100 key arrests of rhino poachers have been made since last year, with several traffickers and syndicate leaders also nabbed.
