We kicked off our Kingdom Living sermon series by walking through Jesus’ opening words in the Sermon on the Mount—the first four Beatitudes. Jesus begins His kingdom teaching not with behavior modification, but with heart transformation. Before He addresses what kingdom people do, He shapes who kingdom people are. In this message, we explore The Way Into the Kingdom through the first four Beatitudes: • Blessed are the poor in spirit • Blessed are those who mourn • Blessed are the meek • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness These Beatitudes are not requirements for salvation or rewards for good behavior. They are promises of grace—evidence of a redeemed life being transformed by Jesus. We’ll see how: The kingdom belongs to those who recognize their spiritual poverty Mourning over sin leads to real comfort and healing Meekness is strength under God’s control, not weakness True fulfillment comes from a hunger for righteousness, not worldly success This sermon reminds us that life under King Jesus begins with humility, repentance, mercy, and dependence on God. These blessings define who belongs to the kingdom, not who performs best.
