In this video, we take a look at linear equations. We need to be careful when we use the word "linear." Just because an equation is linear does not necessarily mean it's the equation of a line. A linear equation in 1 variable is represented as a point on the number line. A linear equation in 2 variables is represented as a line in the 2D coordinate system. A linear equation in 3 variables is represented as a plane in the 3D coordinate system. Since we're interested in graphing lines, in this video, we hone in on linear equations in 2 variables.
