Subscribe to our channel to see more Minneapolis history as we make it available! A promotional film that depicts scenes of Minneapolis, Minnesota, circa 1968 (Thank you to James Lileks). Footage includes the Nicollet Mall, Minnehaha Falls, the Aquatennial Parade, the Minneapolis skyline, the University of Minnesota, and the Chain of Lakes. This film is part of the Archives and Special Collections at Augsburg University. It has been made available for educational use. Music written by Dick Wilson, arranged by Ray Charles (not to be confused with the soul singer), and possibly performed by The Ray Charles Singers. This film is a creation of Chapman/Spittler Productions and was originally created for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, now part of Lumen Technologies. Digitized from a 16mm film with separate sound on 2019 February 9 by Home Video Studio in Bloomington, Minnesota.
