They are a healthy and delicious treat, packed with nutrients from various nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. Here's a basic recipe, but feel free to customize it with your favorite ingredients: Ingredients: 1/2 cup almonds 300 gms dates, pitted ¼ cup pumpkin seeds ¼ cup sunflower seeds ¼ cup watermelon seeds ¼ cup chia seeds ¼ cup flax seeds 2 cup makhana 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) Instructions: Roast the nuts and seeds: In a pan, add seeds ( flaxseeds melon seeds chia seeds pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds) and roast for 5 to 10 minutes.Remove and set aside to cool down . In the same pan, roast almonds until the color is changed . Remove and set aside to cool down. In the same pan add makhana and roast them until crispy remove them and set aside to cool down . Grind the nuts and seeds: Once cooled, coarsely grind the seeds seprately. Now in the same blender coarsely grind the almonds. In the same blender grind the makhana to a fine powder. Do not over-process, as you want some texture in the ladoos. Prepare the date paste: In the same pan, heat the remaining ghee and add dates and figs. Cook on low heat until they soften and form a sticky paste. Combine all ingredients: Add the almond ,seeds and makhana powder (if using) to the date paste. Mix well until everything is combined. Shape the ladoos: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then take small portions and shape them into round ladoos. You can grease your hands with a little ghee to prevent sticking. Tips and Variations: You can add other dry fruits like cashew, pista ,fig and raisins. You can use jaggery or honey as a sweetener instead of dates and figs. You can add spices like nutmeg or cinnamon for a different flavor. For a vegan version, you can use coconut oil instead of ghee. Enjoy these healthy and delicious ladoos!
