So the other day I posted a video of me trying to tighten a wingnut on a cymbal stand mid groove. Thinking I was pretty talented that way, I ran across this relatively rare Buddy Rich performance from 1970 where he literally picks up and moves both of his floor toms out of his way while executing surreal drum porn. The moment happens at 5:53 of the video, but I had to post the whole thing because Buddy Rich. Also wanted to note that some laypersons believe that jazz drummers don't hit hard. I would challenge anyone to find ANY drummer that hits harder than Buddy when he is slaying like this. Conversely, his dynamics and swing chops are historically unmatched. But his power...OMG
