Hey, everyone! Sorry for the small break on the videos; I've been busy with real life stuff, but I also have a lot of tracks coming out, which I've been working on recently! This one here is one of them! This track wasn't in the original Gen V games, but once I heard it in the sequels, I was in absolute love with it! ❖ What The Heck Is This ❖ Aspertia City is the starting city in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. It's quite unique because, for the first time in the entire franchise, the player starts out in a city, instead of a town. Still, in my opinion, it is a lot calmer than most other cities, so it could (basically) be considered a town if they really wanted to go that way. Anyway, this track has three main sections, with my favorite being the third one, followed by the second one. There's a nice piano sequence on the second section of the track, which sounds nothing like the rest of the track, and a bit more Egyptian-Arabic-like; that specific part has always caught my attention in the original one and, while I'd have liked to emphasize it a bit, it simple wasn't possible due to the nature of the track. As for the third section, I immensely enjoy its chord progression. It starts with a Cmaj7 chord, which really isn't expected, since all points towards a regular C chord, then it proceeds with a Bm7 and an awesome E major chord and THEN this awesome bit comes: A minor, D7, Gmaj7 AND the unexpected G# diminished that breaks the previous progression. After that, it goes with a classic Pokémon progression: VI-V-i-V6-III-# VI°-VI. This was quite common in Gen IV (my favorite) so hearing it in Gen V just made me so happy!
