Historical Site in Virtual Reality

Parks Canada and UPEI have a proud history of collaboration in Prince Edward Island. Students from the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering recently embarked on a project with Parks Canada and animation students from The University of Trinidad and Tobago to deliver Province House Virtual Reality—a virtual reality experience that allows users to interact with the Charlottetown landmark while Province House National Historic Site undergoes important conservation work. Parcs Canada et l’Université de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard ont une riche tradition de collaboration à l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Les étudiants de la faculté de génie de conception durable se sont récemment lancés dans un projet avec Parcs Canada et des étudiants en animation de l’Université de Trinité-et-Tobago afin d’offrir au public Province House : réalité virtuelle. Cette expérience de réalité virtuelle permet aux utilisateurs d’explorer ce lieu d’intérêt de Charlottetown pendant que le lieu historique national Province House fait l’objet d’importants travaux de conservation.
