#house #architecture #housedesign The old house, nestled on a generously sized corner lot, was a canvas awaiting transformation. Architect Gui Mattos, with an artist's eye, began by carefully studying the land. He observed the subtle slope, the existing gardens, and the potential for breathtaking views. Like a sculptor shaping clay, he envisioned a residence that would seamlessly integrate with its surroundings, a home that would become an extension of the landscape. The final design emerged in a striking "T" configuration. One arm, a robust wall facing the neighbor's property, served as the grand entrance. This wing, while imposing, gracefully transitioned from the public face of the house into a vibrant social hub. On the opposite side, it morphed into a sanctuary of intimate spaces, offering respite and seclusion. The base of the "T," wider and more expansive, embraced the social heart of the residence. It extended towards the lowest point of the lot, drawing the occupants towards contemplative gardens and a sparkling pool. This strategic positioning opened the house to the outdoors, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. At the crucial juncture of the two arms, a dramatic spiral staircase ascended, inviting residents to discover a second level. Here, a realm of guest rooms awaited, along with a luxurious leisure zone complete with a gym, sauna, and massage room. This upper level, however, was designed to be independent. When the house was occupied by the primary residents alone, it seamlessly receded, allowing the home to function as a single-story haven.
