Sonic 2 Alternate is a hypothetical soundtrack for if I made Sonic 2's music. I love Leila Wilson's fanmade one, so I wanted to do one as well. This song is kinda built off of a cancelled fnf mod's song that I made called "Eclipse." It was for the Blood Moon fnf mod, directed by FallingRoses/RisingViolets\whatever the hell she calls herself now. I'll probably showcase it in the future. @Saucelossthesuckydo8905 was the one who contributed the most to this idea, so i'll just be leaving some quotes from him that helped me to make this. Very cool guy, check out his stuff sometime. Thanks, man. When I asked for help on what to do (i was lost on ideas lol): "So basically, you start with the same motif that MTZ, SCZ, WFZ, and DEZ, share, it still has the orchestral feel to it. This is where I present influence from Duel of the Fates (because the original took inspiration the Imperial March/Darth Vader’s theme, and Duel of the Fates is used in the duel between Yoda and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith, so Sonic can be seen as Yoda and Robotnik in this regard). The big main influencer comes from this song from Batman: Arkham Knight. Why? 1: It plays in combat encounters in an airborne vessel (the Death Egg is in space so it counts) and 2: Sonic CD had a Batman reference lmfao" I didn't end up using the leitmotifs as much as he'd probably hoped but still enough, I think. When I showed a wip version: "Hmm... there's one thing I'm thinking of. Guitars. I've listened to Doom's soundtrack alot, and one song that feels like it's sort of orchestral is E1M8's theme; Sign of Evil. That had choirs, tremolo strings, and of course, an overdriven guitar as the lead. Sure, orchestral stuff is typically brass, pianos and all that right? But Doom... it has a unique spin on it that. It meshes metal, rock, and orchestral stuff together." Sonix is a big fan of the TNT Evilution MIDI Pack. maybe you'll be, too. • DOOM TNT Evilution MIDI Pack Cover "It’s an honor on my end to make somewhat of a contribution, even if it was mostly in the direction department."
