Ravan Burning In Lucknow On Dusshera

Dusshera Or Vijai Dashmi is one of the most important festivals in India. It is celebrated 20 days prior to Deepawali , also a main and big festival of Hindus in India. On the day of Dusshera Lord Rama had killed Ravna and provided him Moksha. Now every year on the day of Dusshera , effigy of Ravna is made and is burnt after doing pooja of Ravna as Ravna was a Brahmin having knowledge of Vedas and other thing. Only Lord Rama , The avtar of Lord Vishnu, had power to kill him. So to get rid of sin of a Brahmhatya (killing of Brahman) pooja is performed prior to burning of his effigy. It is celebrated all over India. Here some of the children have prepared effigy of Ravna and celebrated Dusshera.
