Nora Fatehi Responds: ‘Sarke Chunar’ Controversy Update | CBFC Clarifies | News9

The controversy over Nora Fatehi’s song Sarke Chunar from KD: The Devil has taken a new turn. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) clarified that it has not received any application for certification of the song, and content on digital platforms is not under its jurisdiction. Earlier, Nora Fatehi broke her silence, stating she had no knowledge of the Hindi version, never gave permission to associate her image with it, and does not endorse the track. She urged people to stop sharing the song and called personal attacks unfortunate. The issue reached Parliament, where Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadouriya raised concerns over vulgarity in films and digital content. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the song has been banned and emphasized that freedom of speech must operate within reasonable restrictions.
