The Institute for Retired Professionals (http://newschool.edu/irp) at The New School (http://newschool.edu) presents Suzanne Braun Levine, journalist and author of several books, talking about Ms. Magazine, the ground-breaking feminist magazine. Fridays @ One - How Ms. Magazine Changed the World with Suzanne Braun Levine Ms. Levine talks about Ms. Magazine's stories that changed lives, from coverage that changed government policy to the backlash that almost ended the magazine’s publication. She also recounts how a “well-behaved” young woman found herself in the midst of and transformed by a powerful social movement. Ms. Levine was also the first editor of the magazine from 1972 to 1988. Throughout the school year, the Institute for Retired Professionals (IRP | http://newschool.edu/irp) presents lectures on timely topics for their members, the New School community, and the general public.
