No tobacconist in Palm Beach County has a footprint like Abe Dababneh’s, who’s got seven of his 11 Smoke Inn locations here. At the Boynton Beach store (which also serves as the company headquarters), an open floor plan makes it easy to get in and out with your favorite smokes, while a full bar and ample lounging space make you feel more than welcome to spend the day. To top it all off, this is a Casa de Montecristo Lounge, and the vintage room, (with its pre-embargo Cubans and mini museum of rum) will make your visit worthwhile all by itself. The Smoke Inn slogan, “continuing the cigar journey,” is fitting for a brand that offers smokers so many different cigar products, events and venues (including an online storefront that’s always shipping cigars to those too far away to enjoy a Smoke Inn). Perhaps most noteworthy is the Great Smoke event, which will be moving to a bigger, badder location this year. Of course, that means a bigger, badder event—even though it’s been a draw for smokers around the country for years now. Even when there’s not a major event going on, you might still catch the broadcast of Kiss My Ash Radio, which Abe moved from a radio studio to this Smoke Inn location so that there’d be a live audience. The best and most impressive thing about Smoke Inn, however, is that the company has managed to hang on to that personal, Cheers-y touch that makes cigar lounges so welcoming. You’ll always feel like you’re among friends. After all, as Abe put it, “Cigars are like sex. You can do it alone, but it’s always better with company.” Not subscribed to Cigar Snob?
