Growing a vegetable garden is one of the most beneficial endeavours - it saves money, creates lots of healthy fresh produce, reduces contribution to the impacts of industrial food systems, enhances self-sufficiency, and is a pass-time that brings about mindfulness and fulfilment. I am lucky to have a mum who loves gardening and have been brought up with a garden my whole life. I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into her garden and a few of her insights. I think we are too diversified within our current capitalist society - we specialise into a job and get everyone else to sort every other part of our lives... we don't grow our food anymore or fix our things when they're broken or build our homes ... we don't really live the processes that make up our lives, and I think we miss out on a lot of fulfilment because of that. It's a hugely fulfilling thing to grow food from a seed!
