A smoke detector is not the most exciting smart home gadget… but it might be the most important one. In this video I’m adding the Sensereo MS1 Matter Smoke Detector (Matter over Thread) into Home Assistant, and turning it into a real emergency system — not just a dashboard notification. 🔥 The most important thing: this device is self-contained. It has a loud built-in alarm, so even if your Thread network goes down, your Wi-Fi is dead, or Home Assistant is offline, it will still detect smoke and sound the alarm.
