Cruise to Antarctica: Penguins Excursion Punta Arenas, Chilean Fjords on HAL Oosterdam Part THREE

In Part Three of my vlog we visited the port of Punta Arenas and take a cruise excursion to see the penguins of Isla Magdalena. This is the third port my cruise to Antarctica and South America on Holland America’s Oosterdam cruise ship. We also look at two days of scenic cruising which included the Chilean Fjords and the Brujo and Amalie Glaciers, plus we continue to look at the cruise ship experience, including dining, and activities, plus the Antarctica Expedition team, on the Oosterdam. The Oosterdam is a smaller Holland Ammerica ship which carries 1,964 passengers. It started sailing in 2003. The excursion to Isla Magdalena in Chile involves a lengthy boat trip to a rocky, windswept island where the penguins live. The Magellenic penguins live in burrows under the ground, and we visited during breeding season so saw penguin chicks. Cormorants and Sea Gulls also breed on the island. This series of vlogs will eventually cover the entire 22 day cruise.
