When we began selling on Etsy we had hoped to make an extra $100/month or so. With this one item and a little luck we began making as much as $1500/month. We certainly learned that we didn't need to make extremely intricate items and make things harder than they needed to be. This simple ottoman tray takes us about 35 minutes to make from start to finish and most recently has sold for $59.00 plus buyer paid shipping. We were selling so many of these trays that we ended up taking a year break from etsy. With a new job that keeps me quite busy, we are now content selling a handful of items every month.
