Step inside the Wynn Design & Development offices in Las Vegas—the creative nerve center where the future of Wynn Resorts is imagined, designed, and launched. “When we thought about [our offices], we wanted to create something timeless. This is a space for the ages. It needs to feel and look and operate as effectively 10 years from now as it did the day we moved in,” says Todd-Avery Lenahan, president and chief creative officer of Wynn Design & Development. “We wanted it to be unfettered with ornamental details. We wanted it to have an international style quality, but the goal was to lock into a kit of parts that had real endurance.” The design deliberately steps back, letting product development, materials, and 360-degree panoramic views take center stage. “The aesthetic of the office was very controversial, because I think people expect that if it has the Wynn brand on it, that it's going to be this hyper-colored, polychromatic space. We wanted something that had a degree of neutrality to it, and that goal was to have the color come from all of the product we're working with, and from the natural landscape, the sky, the mountain, and the green of the valley around us.” A single, powerful gesture anchors it together: a scarlet red brushstroke in the showroom and lobby. “We didn't do it because we thought it looked great. We did it because it's necessary as a part of creating the environments for which we're responsible.” For Lenahan, the office is a milestone—and the starting point for everything that comes next. “[This office] is a manifestation of how Wynn Resorts has evolved and has arrived.
