"Postcards from Silius" - (A "Journey to Silius" Arrangement)

I stumbled across the "Journey to Silius" OST quite by accident, and it is truly fantastic. Even amongst such a great soundtrack, though, the end credits music really stood out to me. Almost immediately I had this idea to do a flugelhorn-led 80's style pop ballad, something in a similar vein to Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time". The arrangement came together very easily over the course of a week or so. As I was arranging it I thought of it as telling the story of a long distance relationship. There's a tinge of sadness and loneliness to it while at the same time being very hopeful with a sense of looking forward to an eventual reunion, hence the title "Postcards from Silius". My fiance and I had been separated on opposite sides of the world for months at this time due to COVID. So, in some ways it was intended to be about our story as well. Once the arrangement was complete, I reached out to my fellow "Meta Notes" whom I had worked with on my "Until the Last Dance" track a couple months earlier. They were eager to jump on board and really brought the arrangement to life. Eladar in particular and I spent a significant amount of time researching 80's synthesizers in order to figure out how to nail down that characteristic sound. The end result was a really fun tune to put together. and hopefully one you will find yourself humming for days to come. Huge thank you to all of my collaborators! You guys are great.
