Sturgeon Fishing *Solo Trip* - San Pablo Bay, SF Bay Area

Its getting into late January and that generally means its time to start fishing the San Pablo Bay for sturgeon. When out there you will also catch Stripers and leopard sharks. On this day I caught a fish I was unfamiliar with, a starry flounder. I did hook into what seemed to be a fairly sized sturgeon that shook the hook. I saw its noise when it came to the service. My guess 40-45 inches. I did catch and release a striped bass that was 21.5". My long time friend/fishing partner Danny passed away January 3rd and I have a short click of us catching his first sturgeon from San Pablo Bay last year.
