I've been designing characters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the past 10 years and I've been asked a lot through the years how I go about doing my paintings. As an artist I like to mix things up and at times use different methods just to keep things interesting for myself. This is an example of one way I approach designing characters. I hope you get something out of it! Andy Park is the Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios. He has worked on every single film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Captain America: The First Avenger. He has led the Vis Dev department since 2015 on the films: Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, WandaVision, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor: Love and Thunder, and many other upcoming projects. Prior to that he was one of the leading concept artists on the God of War video game series. And prior to that, Andy was a prolific comic book artist drawing titles such as Tomb Raider and Uncanny X-Men (among others).
