I did a new new solo hike this morning from Los Silos to El Tanque in the north west of Tenerife in the canary islands, where I found a very surprising pizzeria. Along the way, I grabbed plenty of wild fruits : medlar, apples, figs, bell flowers and soon almond. The almonds need another month to be fully ripe. I feel very free here and everytime I cross someone, he says Hola, Buenos dias, Qué tal ? People are quite friendly. It's also a strange feeling to see all those abandoned houses and villages. I'm thinking of the people that were living here in the past. There was life there and the only thing that remain are the wild fruit trees that are giving fruits years after years long time after the human life has gone.
