One of the most valuable coins in the world is expected to realize seven figures as it is offered alongside other rarities certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) from a stunning collection in an ongoing Numismatica Ars Classica auction. Hidden for decades, the Traveller Collection is now emerging as a landmark in numismatics, with the latest group of offerings being presented in a NAC’s Auction 162 on November 6, 2025. The Traveller Collection was formed by a numismatic enthusiast who had acquired some of the greatest rarities in Europe and subsequently buried them in a field as Nazi forces threatened his country. Sadly, he died following a stroke a short time later, and his wife left the collection unearthed for half a century. Already, the collection has made news after a rare variety of the Great Britain 1839 Una and the Lion 5 Sovereign graded NGC PF 64 Ultra Cameo realized CHF 980,000 (about $1.2 million) in May 2025. That impressive amount is almost certain to be eclipsed in November with the offering of a Bohemia 1629 Prague 100 Ducats graded NGC AU 58 (lot 1008), which has an estimate of 1,250,000 CHF (about $1,600,000). This extraordinary numismatic rarity is one of the largest denominations ever minted in Europe. Struck after Ferdinand III became King of Bohemia in 1627 but before his ascension as Holy Roman Emperor in 1637, this coin is notable not just for its historical significance but also for its sheer size and weight. Tipping the scales at more than a third of a kilogram and measuring 74 mm in diameter, it is a true “gold giant.” Head to https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/... to learn more about these spectacular coins
