This strengthening method seems like a good idea for the KV6 plastic thermostat used on the 2.5 V6 petrol engine in MG ZT, Rover 75, Land Rover Freelander V6 (and Kia Carnival ?). It’s an extension of the original idea advertised by dmgrs.co.uk who will sell you a seal strengthened new thermostat. In this video I also add on 3 extra steel clamp springs as well as the steel epoxy putty around the seal. This video is a short extract from my recent Freelander V6 restoration video (part 3) which was quite long and this bit is worth extracting out and adding to. The epoxy putty I used is here: eBay UK: https://ebay.us/uszTwv Amazon UK: https://amzn.to/3lZA6Aw Amazon USA and other countries: https://amzn.to/3lSdm5D Here is where you can get the paint can lid clips: Amazon UK: https://amzn.to/3JVnF0A Amazon USA and maybe other countries: https://amzn.to/3Mb5OFM Ebay UK: https://ebay.us/kl39Dy Ebay USA: https://ebay.us/bRJDRs See dmgrs.co.uk for thermostat and pipe O-rings.
