Free Bus Service For School Children Under Chief Minister’s Scheme to Reduce School Dropouts

In a major initiative to reduce school dropouts, the Chief Minister’s Bus Service will provide free transportation for students. Under the scheme, 50% fare concession will be replaced with fully free bus rides for schoolchildren. To improve accessibility, new bus routes will be introduced by OSRTC, covering more schools. Students can avail of the service using a valid student ID or by wearing their school uniform, and a zero-fare electronic ticket will be generated at the ticketing machine. The OSRTC software application will be updated to accommodate these changes, and bus routes and timings will be reviewed to include the maximum number of schools.
