It took me literally decades to go from starting Spanish to passing the C1 exam. I started at 18 after hearing the opening line of "100 Years of Solitude." I went to Venezuela for 3 months. Made lifelong friends in Peru. Listened to cassettes for hours while delivering pizza. Read Spanish books. But my approach was scattered. I tried every method I could find - books, courses, language labs, movies. I was all over the place with my strategies. I made progress over the years, but it was slow. Much slower than it needed to be. Then during COVID, something changed. I hired a tutor on iTalki (Rosa) and got coaching from @LucaLampariello His advice was almost too simple: "Stop complicating it. Pick one or two techniques. Be super consistent with them. Build over time." 1 year, 3 months, and 4 days after my first coaching session with Luca, I passed the C1 exam. I framed the certificate last year... and then bought seven more empty frames. Because I'm never going back to that scattered approach again. French is next. --- 🔗 Follow my journey: https://fluentstreak.com --- In this video: How 100 Years of Solitude inspired my Spanish journey Years of scattered strategies (and slow progress) What finally clicked during COVID The simple advice that changed everything Why consistency beats a scattered approach every time #languagelearning #spanishlearning #c1exam #learnspanish #consistencyoverperfection
