In the Gospel, we will hear a short but powerful speech of the Lord: “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” Here, the Lord highlights two points: The closeness between him and his sheep comes from knowing each other and results in their being together in eternal life. The other point is his being one with the Father. What does this tell us, brothers and sisters?
