Filmed on September 9th and 10th 2025 in Kalix and Haparanda along the Haparanda Line (Sweden) as well as in Tornio in Finland. In the video you will see some of the trains that operate on the line on the Swedish side, as well as station surroundings and area descriptions in the three locations where the video was recorded. Unfortunately, several trains were cancelled in both Sweden and Finland during the day of filming - In Sweden due to a shortage of vehicles at Norrtåg and in Finland for reasons that we do not know. However, some interesting trains can be seen in the video, such as the ceremonial Wilderness Train that visited Haparanda, and VR's Night Train PYO 276 from Kolari to Helsinki. The latter is a very interesting train that is very different from the night trains that we have in Sweden. The train is pulled by two diesel-electric locomotives of the type Dr19, manufactured by Stadler since 2022. There are carriages with both single and double floors, as well as car carriages at the back of the train. This makes it possible for passengers to take their car on board the train. For now, Finnish night trains stop at Tornio Östra station, which is located in an industrial area on the outskirts of the city. Tornio station, which is more centrally located, has not had any traffic since 1988, but has been upgraded in connection with the electrification of the line between Tornio and Haparanda. The plan is that in the long term it will be possible to travel by passenger train between Sweden and Finland, but so far only freight traffic crosses the border. Some particularly fun features in the video are the incredible interior of Haparanda station, as well as the upgraded BFS9 waggons seen in Kalix and the X40 seen in Tornio (both on their way from the upgrade facility in Kemi back to Sweden). All vehicles seen in the video are Rc6, engine 243, X40, X52 and Dr19. The trains operated as the Wilderness Train, Hectorrail service train, Norrtåg and VR Night Train.
