Interesting machines at Golds to mark 50th anniversary
Gold's Gym at Venice Beach is possibly the largest and definitely the most famous gym that I know. It's been going exactly 50 years, and due to the length of time and its size, Gold's Venice has managed to accumulate a number of resistance and other exercise machines that I haven't seen anywhere else. The place means a lot to me, it was where I first seriously picked up a dumbbell (back in 2008 under the guidance of Rob Riches), and I've worked out there many times since, notably with my friends Dan Wynes and Keith Cormican as well as Rob. My own small congratulatory tribute from one over-50 to Gold's becoming an over-50 is this video showing some of that unusual and unique equipment they offer. Well done Gold's on the half century, I'll be back soon!
