Zona Arqueológica Palenque renown Maya UNESCO World Heritage site in Mexico

Palenque is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site located in Chiapas, Mexico, featuring some of the most refined and well-preserved Classical Maya architecture (ca. 226 BC – 799 AD). Located within a dense jungle, the site is known for its intricate stone carvings, the expansive Palace complex, and the famous Temple of the Inscriptions. It is located near the Usumacinta River in the Mexican state of Chiapas, about 130 km (81 mi) south of Ciudad del Carmen, 150 meters (490 ft) above sea level. It is adjacent to the modern town of Palenque, Chiapas I visited Mexico from Astana Kazakhstan for the 4-th time in December 2025 to January 2026. This time I went with my son Peter. Mexico is very beautiful country with population 132 Millions (10th in the world) , Area 1,972,550 km2 (13th), GDP Nominal 1.7 Trillion PPP (13 th) 3.4 Trillion ( 13th) ; GDP PPP per capita 25,500 USD (77th) . During 3 week trip in Mexico we visited 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites ( WHS), 24 destinations ; we spent about 200 hours in airports, airplanes, buses and taxis. and we spent about 1 hour on a beach in Tulum.
