Say goodbye to the laptop. We just gave our DIY CAN Sniffer an upgrade. 📺⚡ In our mission to convert this broken 2016 Corolla into the Volts Wagon (a DIY series hybrid), we hit a roadblock: the Electric Power Steering computer will shut down when we remove the gas engine. To keep it alive, we have to hack the car's CAN Bus network and spoof the engine data. The V2 Upgrade: I switched out the old Teensy setup and upgraded the brain to an ESP32-S3. I also wired up a 2.8" ILI9341 LCD screen so we can watch the Corolla's raw hex data streaming in real-time, right from the driver's seat.
