I have used burgundy color, 1.2 mm thick automotive leather. As explained before I have taken advantage of 'stretchy side' of leather. Besides, to improve the stretching I have used a 'special liquid softener' to somehow soften the fibers of this strong material. The 'narrow pocket' was molded by doing some cuts in its corner then joined with 'carpenter's glue'. This pocket could be done in one piece if softened enough and shaped on a hard mold. The main idea on this process is try to not force the leather material onto lower areas, otherwise it could unstick because of tension. It should be glue down as gently as possible. It is advisable to apply two coats of glue. The first one acts as a primer. The plastic should be sanded off to get a better adherence of glue. I have used a 'polyurethane transparent glue' to attach the pocket to plastic piece inside. As we can see, it can be activated with some hot air after being dry.
