We had to settle for Whinlatter Forest WOW Trail hike. After our abandoned Kayak Trip to Buttermere in the lake district. What a day this turned out to be. The plan was simple: a peaceful kayak trip… until the valentines traffic had other ideas. With the parking situation in Buttermere being terrible, I made the call to abandon the paddle and head for higher ground instead. So I grabbed my gear, drove up to Whinlatter Forest, and hit the legendary WOW Trail and honestly, it was the perfect backup adventure. Towering pines, sweeping views over the fells, and that fresh Cumbrian air that resets your whole system.
