Happy 9th Anniversary Haley

Today would have been Haley and I’s 9 year wedding anniversary. Despite the cancer, Haley and I had an incredible marriage. She was my best friend, my high school sweetheart and she will always have a piece of me. Luckily I know what a successful marriage is and I can use that experience for the next chapter in my life. There is a picture in this video that is painful for me. She’s looking into my eyes with a desperate look that says “please save me.” And unfortunately I couldn’t. It’s not easy as a husband to have to stand by and watch a disease slowly kill your best friend, wife, and mother of your child. Going through that has hardened a portion of my heart. God has a bigger plan and unfortunately we won’t know “why” until we pass on. Hard to believe we were together for 16 years, 8 of those were during her sickness. Moving forward is not easy. I’m not sure how to do it but I’m trying.
