1st Humanities in ASEAN Webinar Teaching Literature to ASEAN University Students 25 March 2022 9.00 - 12.30 ASEAN Common Time Description: This is the first of a series of short academic events focused on the Humanities in ASEAN, organised by the School of Liberal Arts at Mae Fah Luang University (Chiang Rai, Thailand). This webinar aims to provide an opportunity to share experiences, views, and best practices of teaching literature to students in the context of ASEAN tertiary education. Given the diversity of cultures, languages, and histories in the region, including internal diversity within each country, these experiences and the approaches of educators to the teaching of local, national, world, or comparative literatures, are bound to be very different. With this meeting, we hope to learn from each other in order to develop and enhance student-centred literature pedagogies that are more inclusive and relevant for the diverse social, political, and cultural realities of the ASEAN region today. Keynote Presentation: “Developing ethical thinkers in a global world: Current research in ethical criticism and implications for the teaching of Literature" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suzanne S.
